Sanji’s Biggest Weakness Isn’t What You Think: One Piece 1196 Leaks

Spoiler warning: this covers leaks for chapter 1196, which isn’t officially out until October 18. Leaks can differ from the real chapter.

Killingham’s nightmare move

Chapter 1195 left Sanji in a fight with Killingham, and the early 1196 leaks say the fight takes a strange turn. Killingham answers Sanji’s kicks by pulling out his worst nightmare, which is Ivankov, and the Holy Knight merges with that nightmare to become a figure with Ivankov’s head and Kirin’s body. It’s a disturbing combination, even by Elbaph standards.

The weakness is self-love

The rest of the chapter is reportedly more emotional than its setup suggests. A flashback to Kamabakka Kingdom, where Sanji stayed for close to two years, shows Ivankov telling him that he lacks self-love. One leak summary adds that Sanji won many of his fights against the Okama but always took injuries he could have avoided, because he doesn’t value himself.

Another translation of the leaks says Sanji accepts himself after realizing that being a member of the Straw Hat Pirates gives him a reason to love himself. The nightmare then disappears. The chapter ends with Sanji lighting a cigarette and telling his opponent he’s way too full of himself.

Does Sanji awaken Conqueror’s Haki?

Fans are already theorizing. One popular take is that overcoming the self-loathing he got from being the “failure of the Germa” could be how Sanji awakens Conqueror’s Haki. The leaks don’t confirm that, and they don’t confirm that Sanji actually defeats Killingham either. Treat the Haki idea as speculation until the real chapter lands.

Another break may be coming

One leak report says the manga will take a break the week after 1196. That’s unconfirmed. Earlier reports showed no break announced after 1195, so it’s worth checking MANGA Plus before assuming either way.
